Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I am writing to support The New Guild project. I am a resident of Portola Valley and my husband and I are raising our 3 kids here
ages 15, 13 and 9. We are really excited about the prospect of a venue close to home where we can enjoy art and music and
entertainment. And to expose our kids to art and culture in a place that is close to home and part of their community.
When I was growing up on the east coast my parents took us to the symphony every month. I really didn't love it as a kid. But of
course it was more about experiencing all that goes into a music performance and to experience every month the wonder of the
violins and the flutes and the drums all coming together to make something magical. We don't have that opportunity here yet. But
we have the possibility with The New Guild to show our kids something magical. And with that they can experience something
extraordinary that they will pass on to their kids.
