Dear Councilmembers of Menlo Park,
The San Mateo County Gun Buyback was held on Saturday, May 5th. We collected 426 guns and 16 assault weapons and made $42,300 in
cash disbursements. It was a very successful event, and many people expressed gratitude for the opportunity.We have $93,800 in
funds remaining, and we will be discussing a future buyback and/or gun safety education programs with the San Mateo County
Sheriff's Office.
On Tuesday, May 22nd at 9am, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and Citizens for a San Mateo County Gun Buyback will be making
a presentation regarding our experience to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors at 9am. If interested in learning more about
the buyback and our findings, we encourage you to attend.
