Hello Menlo Park Planning Commission!
I am writing to you today to express my strong support for the New Guild effort being spearheaded by Drew Dunlevie. Several weeks
ago I sent a similar communication to the MP City Council, cc'd here.
As a long-time local resident (I moved to Menlo Park in 1998), graduate of Stanford, and ardent supporter of the arts, I sincerely
believe the New Guild offers a rare opportunity to transform our community in a very positive way. Truly local access to movies,
music, and community events would be amazing, not just for ourselves but for future generations as well.
I have lived on The Peninsula for over 30 years (and would visit my aunt here every summer for the 15 years before that!), and
have always believed it's a truly special place. The area has been challenged by a lot of things over the years, but local
resiliency always seems to surface at the right time. I sincerely believe the New Guild is the latest chapter of that resiliency -
a project that will help make our community better than ever, for ourselves and for future residents.
Just wanted to again express my strong support for the New Guild.
