To Menlo Park City Council,
The plan to eliminate our parking lots to build housing will bring an end to downtown Menlo Park. It is beyond my comprehension that the City Council, who is elected to represent our best interests, could consider such a plan! Even with all the vacancies on Santa Cruz Ave. and side streets, it can be a daunting task to find a downtown parking space throughout the day during the week.
We are well aware that all of our local governments are tasked with meeting the States housing mandate, but building in the center of town, creating major disruption for existing businesses for years, adding to traffic backup and delays during school hours and eliminating existing parking is irresponsible at best! Please look to other locations or this will be the death knell for the businesses in Menlo Park.
Do something POSITIVE for our city - PLEASE DONT KILL IT!
