Dear Council Members,
I am a physician practicing in downtown Menlo Park and I am concerned about the proposed development of downtown parking lots.
My patients already have difficulty finding parking in the three downtown parking lots. Developing on these lots without a specific plan to replace (or even increase) the existing parking capacity will only exacerbate the current parking difficulty.
As I serve many Menlo Park residents, I am deeply concerned that moving hastily forward with this development plan will significantly increase their barriers to healthcare, thereby negatively impacting their health
I ask the Council to halt the declaration of these parking lots as exempt surplus land and collaborate with the community on a thoughtful housing development plan.
Sincerely,
Kevin Luo, MD
