Honorable Menlo Park City Council,
I support taking the next step to investigate potential below market rate homes downtown. I don’t think I would support approving a plan that did not fully replace current parking, but I think public garages like Palo Alto’s would be a fine solution for
our downtown and I would love to see more walkable affordable units that might make residents less dependent on cars in our downtown. I also think the Willow and Ivy lot is well situated to transit (if the county would reactivate the bus stop route that there)
and resources and could help people who are being displaced by other development in District One so I, if Cecilia and others who speak for the residents agreed, I would support investing options there too.
Sincerely,
Ann Diederich
P.S. I’m still hot on the topic of making sure any BSL facilities connected to these development projects are compliant with current safety standards and not grandfathered in to old guidelines.
Ann
