Honorable Menlo Park City Council,
I support building new affordable homes downtown and I urge you to do the same on January 14th.
Californias housing crisis is worsened by strict zoning laws and long approval processes that slow down the building of new homes. Many local governments focus on single-family houses, which limits the construction of apartments and other multi-unit buildings
that could help more people find a place to live. Another problem is environmental rules in some areas. It is important to protect nature, and I am a big supporter of preserving the Earth. However, some of the environmental laws that are enforced can create
delays or complications for housing projects, which exacerbates the shortage and makes it harder to fix.
Please invite All stakeholders to this conversation - builders, construction workers, contractors, state legislators. Love is a sacrifice.
Please vote "yes" to new affordable homes downtown on January 14th.
Sincerely,
Nick
California
