Honorable Menlo Park City Council,
I support building new affordable homes downtown and I urge you to do the same on January 14th.
I want teachers and local employees to be able to live in our community rather than needing to commute into Menlo Park from far away. Reducing commute times is not just good for our environment, but it also benefits our children in creating healthier air
and offering them a vibrant community of peers to grow up with.
Everyone deserves access to live in safe, affordable homes, and the parking lots represent a unique opportunity to meet community needs. Parking in downtown Menlo Park is not difficult. So long as the plans include parking to accommodate new residents, no
one will actually notice the change in parking lot allocation. Perhaps it might even encourage people to walk more instead of driving from their homes to downtown.
More homes will make our community more vibrant, walkable, and affordable.
Please vote "yes" to new affordable homes downtown on January 14th.
