Hello membersof City Council,
I'm a Menlo park homeowner and parent of three children in our school district. I am writing to express my support for
Councilmember Mueller’s suggestion that the city give $1 million of its ERAF surplus to MPCSD. I understand that Stanford
University will be developing housing in our district, but as a non-profit will not be paying property tax. I also understand they
made a generous contribution to help pay for the projected new students who will be coming into our district. The projected
shortfall is concerning, and I believe it would be a good investment to use the current ERAF surplus to help mitigate the
shortfall.
