I am hoping that the City Council can take actioin now to join Mayors for Peace, while you are awaiting the students' essays to
take part in the visit to Sister City Bizen, Japan. What would be the process for making a decision? Please contact me if you need
any additional information. This Hiroshima/Nagasaki anniversary in August, I'd be proud to help plan a program commemorating our
city's involvement in peace issues - peace is a local issue as well as a global one, and this is one small step that many U.S.
cities have made - please join them and the cities around the globe that have joined Mayors for Peace.
