Dear Council Members ...
I join the chorus of voices opposing the proposed resolution declaring downtown parking lots 1, 2 and 3 as "exempt surplus land." Yes, there is a need for more affordable housing in our city. But eliminating three downtown parking lots is not the answer. Our downtown business district continues to shrink as business tenants contend with increasing rents. Its becoming a ghost town of see through store fronts that can ill afford to lose many more businesses.
I urge you to NOT adopt this resolution!
