YES to Downtown Housing

Menlo Park has done a fantastic job of managing redevelopment over the past decade.
I expect and hope it will continue to do so in the near future.

The El Camino corridor has seen many significant improvements.
Dead and dying auto dealer lots have turned into successful projects with public spaces, retail, underground parking, office space, and other amenities.

I look forward to seeing thoughtful urban infill that brings additional pedestrians, renters, homeowners, students, and professionals from many walks of life.
Perhaps some residents with a stake in quality of life downtown can help revitalize this moribund, half dead collection of rug galleries and bank branches.

With additional ground floor retail spaces, underground parking, smaller apartments and condominiums we might end up with a much more vibrant and lively downtown than “Menlo Dark” and it’s acres of potholed asphalt can currently sustain.

Please provide the leadership to build consensus around thoughtful, nicely scaled, affordable residential complexes in the heart of our dreary desolate and dumpy downtown.

Thank you
