Triangle annexation

Dear City Council Members,
I am writing you with the strongest possible support for the proposed Triangle annexation. My wifeand I have lived on Sharon Road
since 2003 and have owned our home at 2029 Sharon Rd (between Alameda and Santa Cruz) since 2014.
As you know, the split jurisdiction makes it very difficult to handle issues like traffic calming, pedestrian and bicycle safety,
safe routes to schools, development and most importantly law enforcement and public safety. We have three children under the age
of 6, so these issues are of paramount importance to us.
Having been involved in prior attempts at annexation, we know the County wants these unincorporated areas to be annexed to their
representative cites, where they can better manage local issues and we heard directly from the Mayor of Menlo Park during a
meeting on our block that she wants this to happen as well.
Frankly, it is a travesty that we wholeheartedly support Menlo Park businesses and schools, but cannot vote in Menlo Park. And if
you have ever driven past our block to cross between Alameda and Santa Cruz, you know that the shoddy road conditions are
unfathomable for a row of newly constructed multi-million dollar homes and serves as a black mark on not just the Triangle but all
of the surrounding incorporated neighborhoods. Visitors to our block remark, "Woah, this is Menlo Park ?!?" and have no concept of
County vs unincorporated vs incorporated.
Please right what has been a long overdue wrong and finally unite Menlo Park!
Thank you for your consideration.
Best,
Sanjay Desai
