Dear Council,
As a follow up to my comments that I submitted on January 28, I’d like to voice my continued support for the enhancement of our
local entertainment options with the concept of The New Guild. I was very pleased and so appreciate that fact that you deemed the
project to be of a high priority. I just see so little downside to upgrading our local theatre so that it can continue to offer
movies while also becoming a hub for live entertainment. My family and I would love to frequent a venue that could present movies,
music, comedy, authors, etc.
As Menlo Park continues to grow, having a local spot, in walkable distance for many, would be such a great addition to our great
city. Currently, we lose that entertainment vibrancy to neighboring towns to the north and the south.
I’ve been a resident of Menlo Park since 2001 as an “adult,” but grew up here (attending Laurel, Encinal and Menlo School), so I
think I can say with some authority that our town could really use The New Guild.
