For consideration of the City Council of Menlo Park:
As a local grandparent, I am often on Sharon Road between between Santa Cruz and the La Entrada Middle school. I escort children
to school and to the bus stop many times during the school year.
The lack of sidewalks and the unsafe condition on this street and of too many of the other ones is a situation which concerns me
and which I do not understand.
During my life time I have lived, walked to school and worked in many other cities in USA. Menlo Park is by far the most affluent
and in many ways the most lovely. This is why the sidewalk situation has always perplexed me. However this sentiment is
overshadowed by a strong concern for for the safety of the school children and others walking.
