Dear Menlo Park Council Members,
The word on the street is that some folks want to do something pretty cool in Menlo Park; keep the landmark Guild alive - while at
the same time creating a venue for live music and other entertainment. Wow. First an amazing new coffee shop and now this! There
really could be hope for Menlo Park. My family and I bought a house in Menlo Park over fifteen years ago. There are so many things
we love about our city, but there are so many things that it is certainly lacking. We find that we have to leave the Menlo Park
city limits for any sort of entertainment, good shopping, amazing meals, and services. Most weekends, we take ourselves (and our
money) to San Francisco, Palo Alto, Redwood City or San Carlos. The New Guild appears to be a step in the right direction for keep
folks in (or brining them to) Menlo Park. Asuccessfulentertainmentvenue could help spur other great establishments to open (and
stay) in our great city.
I hope that you consider the proposal that the Peninsula Arts Guild is presenting on Monday. We have full faith in them and hope
that you do too!
