Dear Menlo Park City Council Members,I read about the proposed partnership of the Guild Theater and the Peninsula Arts Guild in
the Almanac, and I agree it does sound very exciting.
With all the interesting plans for the theater, however, I didn't read that the plans for the theater would include continuing to
show independent and foreign films, as the Guild is currently doing.
I would love to see the offerings at a new arts complex expand the offerings of a single movie theater. However, I want to
continue to have a schedule of art films, foreign films and other non-blockbuster films as part of the "new" Guild.
Please insist that the art films and foreign films be included in any plans for a revitalized theater. There is room enough for
many different kinds of art and culture, side by side, at a revitalized Guild, including the kinds of film that the Guild has been
offering for many years.
