Mayor Ohtaki and City Councilmembers,
City of Menlo Park owned Downtown parking lots are prime for mixed use housing, perfectlylocated within walking distance of
CalTrain, shopping and dining.
I urge you to add conducting a housing needs study of all City owned land,prioritizingDowntown and within 1/2 mile of El Camino,
along with establishing a plan to move forward with Affordable Housing on the parcels to your 2018 Goals. I also encourage you to
add revising the Downtown Specific Plan.
City of Menlo Park housing developer partners and regional affordable housing advocates can conduct a housing needs study for
little to no cost.
