Advisory committee deliverables

Dear Council Members -In reading the responsibilities of the advisory committee to deliver 5- and 6-districting plans, plus
election sequencing for each, I'm wondering if that also includes a preference (or indifference) between those two options. If so,
or if not, it'd be good for that to be made explicit. If what's stated on the city web page is the minimal advisory committee
requirement, the 5- vs 6-district preference could be identified as an optional deliverable. The text below sounds as if a
preference between 5- and 6- district plans is expected ('the Committee's original recommendation'), but the intent is unclear. As
a Menlo Park resident I'd like the advisory committee preference between 5-district and 6-district+mayor plans discussed and
recommended. It’s an important policy choice about which the advisory committee should express their view. Thanks very much,John
Kadvany / College Ave.
Text:The City Council charged the Committee with providing options for five- and six-district maps and related election sequencing
recommendations to the City Council no later than February 23, 2018. If the City Council chooses not to adopt the Committee’s
original recommendation, the Committee will be given another opportunity to consider and provide a further recommendation to the
City Council.
