Recommending Council consider alternative development sites for Low income housing

To Menlo Park City Council:

I am recommending that the City Council makes a decision to study alternative development sites to downtown proposed sites for future housing.

Having been in Commercial Real Estate business for over 40 + years, in my opinion and expertise the most suitable site to seriously consider is the Civic Center area. The reasons are as follows:

1. This site will not adversely impact the downtown business.
2. This site will not create a parking problem if properly planned.
3. This site will not make an already bad traffic problem in the downtown area and neighboring streets even worse.
4. This site is close to amenities i.e grocery stores, drug stores etc for the residences of the development.
5. This site is close to mass transportation for the future residences.
6. The existing character of downtown Menlo Park will be saved and preserved.

I hope the City Council saves the downtown area and seriously considers the Civic Center site as an alternative.
