Dear City Council,
Woodland Avenue is targeted for resurfacing and I hope this is an opportunity to strengthen the infrastructure to support pedestrian and bike traffic. Many of our Laurel Elementary students live in the Willows neighborhood and could use Woodland as a route to school, but it is currently unsafe. As a Safe Routes to School volunteer, we try and encourage our students to use active transport when possible, but we would never encourage families to use Woodland. An improved Woodland Ave could also support MA students and commuters as well.
