Dear City Councilmembers,
I request that Council *not* take any action tonight toward restoring two-way vehicular traffic on Santa Cruz Ave.
As someone who rides a bike from Linfield Oaks into downtown for errands, Im loathe to give up the *only protected bike lane* available to me when traveling east or west into the downtown.
Instead, any changes to downtown traffic and parking patterns should be taken up under the City Councils annual priority and goal setting process and/or as part of a larger vision and plan for the downtown: one that is more walkable and bikable. One that supports our existing TMP roadmap by prioritizing the safety and comfort of pedestrians, cyclists, and other users over vehicle traffic and parking.
