Please join us: Sat 21 @ 9 .m. -- MPC Ready Monthly Community Meeting (changed from Nov 28)

Dear Volunteers, Neighbors and Supporters,

The November MPC Ready community meeting will take place Saturday, Nov 21 @ 9 a.m. due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that this might cause.

Please join us for an interactive update on how the City of Los Altos, the Los Altos Police Department, community volunteers and the Santa Clara County Fire Department work together to help their community prepare for disasters.

Speakers: Ann Hepenstal, City of Los Altos Emergency Preparedness Coordinator & PREPARES Program Manager, and Volunteer Leaders. Topics Include:

* Disaster preparedness in Los Altos;
* Los Altos emergency/disaster planning and structure;
* Overview of Los Altos PREPARES program and activities; and
* Q&A

Talk will include hurdles, successes and lessons learned. The meeting will give us an opportunity to learn from a neighboring City and to also foster regional networking and communication towards our shared goals of public safety and disaster readiness. MPC Ready seeks to advance the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) values of: Cooperation, Communication, Coordination and Collaboration.

Our neighboring WPV-Ready and WPV-CERT community-based organizations invite anyone to register for their free online courses.

Volunteers Needed: Please reach out if you would like to become a MPC Ready block coordinator or to help with outreach and/or projects. We also have door hangers, with a list of disaster prep supplies, and green safety vests. Please let me know if you would like some.

Please let me know if you would like to be removed from this mailing list. If you have not yet registered for SMC Alert, please do so soon!

Warmly,

Lynne Bramlett,
Co-Chair, MPC Ready
