Honorable Mayor Combs and Esteemed Council Members:
As peace in the world continues to be an ongoing issue, let us not forget that today is known as INTERNATIONAL HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY. The poem below helps us pause to consider this historic and tragic event. For those in Menlo Park and for those around the world, may there be "peace on earth, and goodwill toward all".

On International Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember the six million Jews ruthlessly and senselessly destroyed for their beliefs. Their lives continue to be a sacred blessing to all generations, and we honor them by our continued commitment to advocating for peace, tolerance, and justice, and we remain aware not only of Jewish suffering but of human suffering in all forms.
