Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
In January 2019, I received a citation for not displaying the current tab on my car while parked at plaza 8 in Menlo Park. I contacted the citation and was denied. I spoke with Sgt Romero from the Police Department who was trying to assist me. Today, he tried to direct me to requesting an on-line extension and review, stating these requests would then be directed to him and he could approve the extension. After further consultation, it was determined that there is perhaps no provision to request an extension. Sgt Romero had been able to determine that my car has current registration which was also the case while being parked at plaza 8 in Menlo Park. The current sticker was not affixed to the car at the time but registration was and is current. I reached out to the outsource department who handles citations on behalf of the City and was quickly declined without providing me an opportunity to have the citation signed off by an officer. I would like to request assistance in resolving this issue.
