As a frequent shopper and diner at Menlo Park businesses and restaurants, I want to urge you to use the Civic Center parking lots instead of the Downtown parking lots for new housing units. It is already challenging to find parking in downtown Menlo Park, and taking away the three parking lots will only exacerbate the problem.
In addition, the location of the Civic Center lots are much better in terms of the housing locations access to public transit, parks and the library, while still providing easy walking access to restaurants and Santa Cruz Ave shops. Not to mention being a nicer environment!
Please seriously consider the Civic Center lots, and make this new housing a win-win project.
