Low Income housing

Dear Menlo Park Council,
For over 35 years I have been a proud and happy homeowner in Menlo Park. Focusing on downtown parking lots to meet state-mandated housing goals will likely harm the vibrancy and accessibility of the area. Large-scale housing developments in such a high-value, central location will reduce parking availability, disrupt existing businesses, and deter visitors. Instead of revitalizing the space, these changes will create congestion and make the area less accessible, ultimately detracting from the vibrancy the city aims to enhance.

Please find another solution away from downtown and closer to areas such as HWY 101 with minimal impact on mainstream residential Menlo Park.

I would also like to understand the councils reasoning for the proposed plan to use the downtown parking lots.

Best,
Jeff Sasagawa
