Thanks to your participation in PCE, Menlo Park residents now have very clean electricity. Bravo!
The next critical steps are to replace fossil fuels like gasoline and methane ("natural gas") with PCE's clean electricity as
quickly as possible -- the UN report from October [https://news.un.org/en/story/2018/10/1022492] makes the urgency very clear.
The shift to electric vehicles is already well underway; if you've driven a modern EV you'll know why.
But the shift to electrify buildings is going to be much harder, and local Reach Building Codes are a key first step. PCE and SVCE
[https://www.svcleanenergy.org/]are working together to provide a "gavel ready" package of electrification Reach codes for every
member agency in 2019.
The two agencies and their consultants are doing the heavy lifting, but that work will go to waste unless each individual city
does their part (estimated by MP city staff at only 30 hours) to join the movement.
