Dear Menlo Park City Council Members.
We have lived in Menlo Park for over 40 years. Very close to the Sunset/80 Willow Rd project. I have written to you in the past. I will continue to do so, in hopes that this project gets a full Environmental Impact Report.
We demand that the City of Menlo Park require an EIR for the Willow Park project. The EIR process allows us citizens an important opportunity to understand the environmental impacts of this large project and, more importantly, to voice questions and concerns to our elected officials.
The vehicle miles that will be generated by this project would most likely result in significant unavoidable impacts under CEQA that should be fully addressed.
Additional traffic will be a big concern. Willow Road is already jammed westbound in the mornings and eastbound evenings. The extra traffic for employees at Willow Park will make that worse. We worry that emergency vehicles will find it even harder to respond.
