Ladies and Gentlemen:
It should not be the role of government to favor one class of citizens (renters) over another class of citizens (property
owners/landlords).
Rent control, rent stabilization, relocation assistance are all one form or another of income and wealth re-distribution.
Enacting strict residential development controls and green-lighting excessive commercial development has caused this problem.
Remedying those distortions first should be your priorities.
This is bad policy.
