Dear Council: I was not pleased that the planning commission accepted the “revised” plans for the building at 40 Willow Road. That is a super-congested corner already. From my house in the Willows, I bike to that corner to cross over to Palo Alto to connect with the Bryant Street bike boulevard there. During rush hour, that corner is clogged with cars from Palo Alto and from cars turning left into the Willows At any time of day, it is not an easy place to enter or exit.
I do not think the building’s parking spaces are enough even with the new “puzzler.” No one will want to wait for a machine to fetch their cars. You know how hurried people are here. They will park on our streets and walk.
Parking spaces need to be spaces directly accessible by the drivers of their cars. Please do not be swayed by a new-fangled gizmo that claims to solve all problems. Thank you for listening. - Susan Bryan, Blackburn Ave
