Sheridan Housing Project

Dear Mayor Combs, Vice Mayor Nash, and Council Members,

I respectfully request that you uphold the Appeal for 320 Sheridan.

As a 20-year resident of Suburban Park, I have seen the traffic patterns of this area change with the growth of businesses and biking commuters. Many days, around 5pm, it can take 45 minutes to drive from Hedge Road to the Marsh Rd 101 onramp. In the mornings, it can take 15 minutes to drive from Hedge Road to Ringwood Avenue. Often times, I have sat in that traffic wondering what would happen if there were an emergency? Where would all the cars and people go?

On January 7th, that fear was exacerbated by the Pacific Palisades fires. The one way in, one way out situation of that emergency put peoples lives at risk. With 320 Sheridan, you have the opportunity to plan ahead and ensure that, whatever the situation, your constituents have multiple options for getting in and out of a densely populated area.

Please consider that whether its everyday safety (cars, walkers, bikers, etc), or emergency safety, it is vital that there be a second entrance/exit to improve the quality of life for your new residents, as well as the ones who voted you into office.

Thank you,
Amy Heinz
