Comments regarding public hearing on 12/14/2020
Building Plans for 505 Central Ave, Menlo Park: Location of gas main:
Dear Members of the Menlo Park City Council and Menlo Park Planning division,
We have submitted comments regarding the new construction at 505 Central Avenue at the public hearing on Dec 14th 2020. We highlighted in our comments that TJ omitted the gas main line in the submitted plans and noted the consequences of this omission.
At the open public hearing TJ stated that the gas main is in front of the house on 505 Central without providing any documentation from PG&E and the Menlo Park Planning Division and City Council members refrained from asking TJ for evidence.
The gas main for all houses we know on Central Avenue as well as Laurel Street including our own house is in the back alley.
We request that the city of Menlo Park Planning and Building Divisions
1.) provide evidence about the location of the gas main on 505 Central Ave and
2) ensure that TJ homes construct the gas line, as well as all other utility lines, outside the critical root zone of the three heritage trees on 511 Central Ave. As detailed in the arborist report, the critical root zone of heritage trees must not be disturbed when reasonable alternatives exist.
