Hello City Council members,
I have lived in Linfield Oaks for the last 9 years. I am an active citizen who has supported our school districts quite extensively. There are 2 upcoming agenda items I would like to voice my opinion on.
1. Quietzone for trains: I think it would be wonderful to make Menlo Park a quiet zone and eliminate the horn noise. I don't think horns add much to safety, and it would improve our neighborhood considerably. This, coupled with Caltrain electrification in a few years will make the trains infinitely quieter and less intrusive.
2. I feel very strongly that downtown Menlo Park should keep the outdoor dining as it is now. It is so much more vibrant and enjoyable on Santa Cruz ave, and we have some of the best weather in the world, so why not have people dining outside more! There is plenty of parking behind all of the restaurants, and I believe we should design around people and not parking spaces. People like to be outdoors and create a vibrant atmosphere.
