Safety for Haven Family House and the Flood Triangle

Dear Council Members, After noting the roll call from Suburban Park residents regarding 320 Sheridan I am compelled to comment. The project at 320 Sheridan is safe for the residents who will reside there. The project has been designed in compliance with all regulations. The developer has even signed an agreement with Live Moves to provide an emergency gate through their property. A gate not required but a good neighbor move. The developer is also providing an air filtering system in the apartment for the residents health safety due to the proximity to the 101 freeway. A second access onto VanBuren Road does increase unsafe conditions for Flood Triangle residents, cyclists and pedestrians using the bridge across 101. Students to MA and Tide Academy, recreational cyclists use the bridge as well as people going to the Iris Gate to Flood Park. VanBuren is to be designated a class lll bike lane by Menlo Park and San Mateo County. More cars on VanBuren Road will decrease the safety on an already busy road that has had many bicycle accidents and is heavy used during the morning school commute. Please deny the appeal by Skip Hilton and vote with the planning commission to approve 320 Sheridan so low income residents can have housing sooner rather than later.
