City Council members,
I see that the rail noise issues and creating quiet zones in 2021 (item K-5 from here) is up for prioritization.
We live ~3 blocks from the Encial crossing and the train horns are a constant issue. With a young infant at home, at least 3 days a week he will be woken up from his afternoon nap or at night from the train horns. We have tried to soundproof his room, replaced windows with double pane + sound proofing, but nothing stops the sound. In addition, with everyone being work from home for the foreseeable future, we are constantly disrupted by the horns blasting while trying to do our day job.
While I understand the necessity for safety, I'm certain there are more effective ways than by causing quality of life issues for everyone living near an intersection.
