Hello city council members,
My husband and I had dinner downtown last night and it was totally delightful. The restaurants were busy, there was music, people enjoying themselves. I truly believe if we closed Santa Cruz Ave on a permanent basis it would be a big boost for the city in terms of revenue from diners, as well as community spirit and connection.
I understand you are under pressure from merchants who don’t want to lose parking but the upside of making this change, in my opinion, is far greater. Downtown Menlo Park can and should be a destination for residents and people from neighboring communities. I encourage you to make these changes permanent.
