Dear City Council,
I am writing to express my hope that you will consider Quiet Zones for Menlo Park's 4 train crossings! I live with my family in Felton Gables. My husband and I work at home during the pandemic while our 2 girls have been attending remote (Zoom) schooling (our college-age student began college remotely, and our high schooler is still studying 100% from home).
It is the loud horn blasts we believe are not needed; the reduction of the blasts can reduce neighborhood noise while maintaining safety. The loud and frequent noise impacts our school classes (via Zoom), work calls, and overall home life. It will become worse as it gets warmer and we all want windows open. Also, we have concerns the noise will get worse as Caltrain expands its schedule. Please consider Quiet Zones for Menlo Park!
