Dear City Council,
My husband and I are Menlo Park residents, living on Buckthorn Way, close to the train. We are very much in support of Menlo Park becoming a Caltrain "Quiet Zone", like Atherton has become.
My husband has tinnitus, which is a horrific malady to live with, and loud noises aggravate his condition. The health data that is coming out about the level of Caltrain horns in our neighborhood as well as many other neighborhoods in Menlo Park, like Felton Gables, is not good at all. The horn blasts rang from 100 -120 decibels in many front and backyards. This not only hurts hearing in adults and children, but affects stress levels, and it is related to other diseases. This must not be overlooked any longer, as the solution is absolutely do-able and within reach. Please make Menlo Park Caltrain Quiet Zone a top priority in 2021. Thank you.
