Dear Menlo Park City Council Members,
First, thank you for your service.
Second, I live in the Park Forest neighborhood of Menlo Park which is a little community on the train corridor and adjacent to the border with Atherton. In the past, the City Council has voted to preserve the quality of life for our community (the decisions re the Red Cottage Inn.) Now we need your support to enhance our quality of life.
Please implement a “quiet zone” for trains passing through Menlo Park. While the proximity to the train enhances the appeal of our city for residents and businesses alike, as well as the value of our homes. It’s the quality of life of life that can be enhanced with your support. (Don’t forget the many hotels adjacent to the train corridor.) A quiet zone will mean more open windows, outdoor activities and better sleep for Menlo Park families!
If Atherton can do it, so can Menlo Park.
Please vote to establish a Quiet Zone for our Menlo Park rail crossings.
