Hi City Council Members,
Please keep the street dining on Santa Cruz Avenue! It is keeping us going during the pandemic. Bistro Vida, Left Bank, and others have set up awesome structures to accommodate diners during Covid-19 and are even able to include music. We took one of our daughters to lunch last week at Bistro Vida and are impressed by how well it works - social distancing works great and we weren't impacted by or didn't interrupt people walking on the sidewalk. I think downtown Menlo Park could do a bit more policing downtown in general (mostly due to groups of kids on bikes who aren't always riding safely), but street dining shouldn't be stopped. We want to keep the non-chain restaurants in our town. It's one of the best attractions Menlo Park has! Friends come from Palo Alto, Burlingame, Mountain View, and San Mateo to dine out at our restaurants on the street and hear music on Friday or Saturday nights.
Also, it will be a long time before many of us will eat at a restaurant indoors. We need the street dining and more to keep Menlo Park vibrant!
