Dear Mayor Combs, Vice Mayor Nash and Councilmembers Mueller, Taylor and Wolosin,
As a Menlo Park resident and director at Acterra, a local nonprofit that serves the San Francisco Bay Area with a focus on San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties...
I'm writing to personally invite you to Acterra's Promise to Our Planet benefit on March 26. Our goal is to bring people together and build a stronger community around a shared purpose: a healthy planet. This evening will be all about the solutions that are underway to help combat the climate crisis.
We’ve made this a virtual gathering, which has allowed us to offer not one, not two, but three high-impact speakers:
* Bill McKibben, who is such a climate leader that he needs no further introduction,
* Wade Crowfoot, California's Secretary for Natural Resources, and
* Bryant Terry, award-winning plant-based chef and activist.
There will be breakout sessions with experts who can speak to progress happening in Acterra’s key program areas: electrification, climate-friendly food, youth education, and workplace sustainability. The event will feature award winners: the Business Environmental Awards will be presented in the category of Spare the Air Leadership, and—new for this year— Acterra will recognize the accomplishments of local individuals and organizations who were nominated by their peers. Last but not least, we will have a fund-a-future segment to help raise money to strengthen Acterra's climate action programs.
I hope you will join me, and current and former champions of the environment and the community, including other electeds, for this incredible event.
Friday, March 26, 2021, from 5 to 8 pm (with an After-Party from 8 - 9)
Please note that access to the full program is at the “Gold” tier, and while that ticket is $100, we will upgrade your ticket automatically to Gold tier at no charge as an elected official.
