Hello Council members, My name is Etay Gafni and I am the resident of 2443 Sharon Oaks Drive in Menlo Park. My house backs to Sand Hill Road. *Our small patio has a 5-foot thin concrete fence between the patio and Sand Hill Road. The noise levels have increased tenfold since we purchased the house in 2006*, and we can* no longer sit outside* and hear each other talk over the noise. We can no longer open the windows on this side of the house, and my two kids, whose rooms face Sand Hill Road, are having a hard time falling asleep at night. in *2003*, the MP City Council required Stanford to ensure that its latest large expansion did not impact our indoor noise levels by adding an additional requirement to its permit approval. Unfortunately, Stanford was able to hide this change in noise level by only being held to a daily average noise level (24 hours, including nights) which averaged away the day time noise. We are the only residential development that is on Sand Hill Road with no green belt separating the traffic from our houses. We are asking that in the next MP city council on *August 22nd*, when Stanford is asking for the new permit, that you help us resolve the problem by requiring Stanford to share the costs of a new, taller and wider Sand Hill Road wall so that the Sharon Oaks owners on Sand Hill Road will be able to enjoy our backyards without having to talk over extreme noise levels. Thank you in advance, Etay Gafni 2443 Sharon Oaks Drive Menlo Park 6509242558 Received on Sun Aug 20 2017 - 10:02:19 PDT
