Hi Paul, Thank you for you letting us know about your concerns. The City has staff following the Willow-101 interchange project closely and we reviewed the plans during design to make sure that the Caltrans team knew about the special drainage concerns in this area. According to the latest information that we have, the sound walls are being rebuilt with a similar break in them to allow the drainage pattern that existed before. Those drainage inlets are all being relocated so they don’t conflict with the new sound wall locations. Additional inlets are also being installed on both sides of the sound walls. The new inlets should be installed in the next few months. We are confirming this with the Caltrans team and will get back to you. Since there are so many different types of work being done as part of this project and different crews performing them, the field teams may not have the most complete information, so please feel free to contact us with any future questions or comments. What's going on with the three big storm drains at the end of Laurel ave.? With the sound wall down and about to be moved I was told by the construction boss that the drains would not be touched. But days after being told that, I watched all three being dug up along with a cement catch basin. It's now all covered with dirt. I remember when the wall was built and then cut open again to provide an opening for the third drain. So my question is what's going on with the drains and is Menlo Park keeping an eye on this!? The Menlo engineering dept. was nonresponsive. Without those drains we will have a problem when the big rains come. Thanks (image/png attachment: image001.png )
