Hello, I am a member of the MP Library Foundation and am strongly in favor of building a new library. I was part of the needs study and EVERYONE involved believed that a modern library should be a community center of sorts. I have worked in most of the public libraries on the peninsula offering art workshops to adults and kids. Our library falls way behind in suitable space for community activities. Our library falls short in the number of classes/activities/community events due to lack of staff. This is is not an either or choice between a new library or one for Belle Haven. Do both. As the east side gets more developed there can be outreach to developers to be a good community partner and help fund one. We can do better by both communities, east and west. Be brave.
