As a senior, I spend a lot of time at the Menlo Park Library. It's a beautiful building with interior brick, fine woodwork, plenty of natural light and a warm and cozy feeling. I believe most people go there to use the computers, rent dvd's and take advantage of the WI- Fi. The current space seems to be working fine for those purposes. I have never seen the library more than a third full and usually the fiction shelves are empty of people. Why build a bigger library so that there will be more space devoid of people who are home reading their ebooks? Leave the library alone for another 10 to 15 years (the original plan). If the Arrillaga family wants a building with their name on it, how about one that is really needed like the Arrillaga Homeless Shelter or the Arrillaga Food Bank. Dan Sorbi 324 Middlefield Rd.
