Hope you are all having a relaxing dinner before continuing tonight.
Just like the vaccination, we are willing to wait and stand in line for our turn.
We have been waiting for 25 years for change.
We have been waiting for 25 years for someone to listen and notice.
Unlike some of the projects in process, we've been in line for a very long time.
Our time has to come soon.
This email is not to say one street is more important than another, safe streets for all of Menlo Park are equally important.
If the other streets in question have drivers going 35-50mph or passing on a single lane using either the bike lane or on-coming traffic lane, then we will step aside gracefully.
If the other streets have the Dumbarton Express take their name literally or SamTrans, we will step aside.
In terms of equity, the residents on Willow Road and adjacent streets have not had any action items on the City Council Agenda as far as I can recall.
We cannot be on the call as often as we would like. Our priority is having dinner every Tuesday with Daniel's sister's family since she passed away due to a complication during surgery (from a car accident).
Please do not take our absence as compliance, we are still determined to get something done for the sake of safety, similar reasons why people want the train noise to become a quiet zone, for our mental stability and quality of life.
We so appreciate each and every one of you and your hard work,
Alice and Daniel Hom
