The image above, titled “Silicon Valley Xmass,” was taken on December 23rd, 2020, is showing a portion of an encampment at the northwest corner of
the Marsh Road Overpass and 101 which property I understand belongs to the City of Menlo Park. It is simply one photo of a multi-year theme which a working title could be
“Economic Fallout On The Peninsula.” Please let me state that it no way my intention to bring any negative or punitive attention to this or any other encampment.
I am interested, tho, with engaging my environment somewhat more than taking photographs from a remove and, or passing by pretending not to see. The site seems dynamic and
organized still, I wonder as to essentials such as presence of a dumpster, porta-potties and a water buffalo. To this, the question is if it is within the City’s domain and willingness to
provide these basic needs. If no, can the City recomend an organization to which one could contribute.
