Galway Ireland- St. Patrick’s Day message

Hi,

In the spirit of the season, you may find this message of interest. It’s a time to recognize and acknowledge both the challenges and opportunities that year 2021 offers. The Mayor’s comments are universal and thus may apply to your family as well.

> My message to the children of Galway in today's The Galway Advertiser ahead of St Patrick's Day ☘

> "I hope you all have a very enjoyable St Patrick’s Day.

> It has been a very strange year for all of us, you have had to adapt to online schooling and take a break from so many fun activities such as sport, arts and so many more. However, it has also been a great opportunity for us to learn some new skills. I have started cooking more and even learned how to bake a cake! It has been difficult for you as you have not been able to meet your friends or celebrate your birthday as normal and many of you missed out on special days such as your holy communion and confirmation too.
>
> We are however very lucky to be in Galway, a city and county of such beauty. We have such amazing biodiversity and natural beauty surrounding us and I spend a lot of time with my three sons Ryan (10), Adam (6) and Ben (5) exploring this. As we near the end of this difficult period, you might also explore what nature has to offer in your community and let me know? I would love to hear from you by email at mike.cubbard@cgcc.ie.
>
> In the meantime, enjoy the St Patrick’s Day celebrations with your family and I hope to see you very soon"
