Dear Mayor Combs and City Council Members,
Menlo Park's leadership on climate has been extraordinary. When in Sacramento I love pointing to the efforts our city has led or is working on. And last July when Menlo Park adopted the strongest Climate Action Plan in all of California, I was really proud of our city.
As you discuss the Climate Action Plan this Tuesday I hope we keep the focus on meeting the 2030 climate target. In order to do that, we need to continue moving forward - as quickly as possible - with the measures approved in the CAP last summer. Delay will only make it harder to meet our 2030 goals and provide everyone throughout Menlo Park with the pollution reductions that they deserve.
I support continued climate action that is equitable across the community and effective. Please follow the Environmental Quality Commission and Complete Streets Commission recommendations. I'm doing what I can in Sacramento and let us work together to meet this moment of urgency to act on climate and safeguard our communities.
